Muistan hyvin hetken, kun aloin muovata tämän veistoksen vahamuottia lähes 30 vuotta sitten. En oikeastaan ajatellut mitään. Vaha alkoi vain lämmetä käsissä ja saada muotoa. Hetken päästä katsoin, mitä olin saanut aikaan. Tuloksena oli neljät kasvot yhdessä päässä. Veistoksessa on iloiset kasvot, vihaiset kasvot ja surulliset kasvot. Yhdellä näistä kasvoista ei ole silmiä, eikä se ilmaise mitään tunnetta lainkaan.
Jotenkin on hauskaa, että tein tämän paljon ennen työelämään siirtymistä ja nykyään se onkin työpöydälläni. Käännän sitä vähän sen mukaan miltä minusta tuntuu. Yleensä katselen hymyileviä kasvoja.

I remember well the moment when I began sculpting the wax mold for this sculpture almost 30 years ago. I wasn’t really thinking about anything. The wax just began warming in my hands and taking shape. After a moment, I looked at what I had created. The result was four faces on one head. The sculpture has a happy face, an angry face, and a sad face. One of these faces has no eyes and expresses no emotion at all.
Somehow it’s amusing that I made this long before entering working life, and now it sits on my desk. I turn it a bit depending on how I feel. Usually I look at the smiling face.
